How to Change PalZones to a North American DVD Format
When downloading videos from the Internet you might find that your video is in PAL format. The PAL format is not typically playable on American DVD players. If you're looking to convert your PAL videos into a format that is playable on North American DVD players, you might think this is a lengthy process. However, converting your videos is not very hard and can be done a couple of minutes with the right software packages.

AnyDVD

Download the "AnyDVD" software package (see References for link). AnyDVD is a video software application that will allow you to convert the PAL formatted videos on your computer into the North American DVD format. AnyDVD is only available for Windows PC. Insert your blank DVD into your computer drive.

Launch the AnyDVD application and click on the "File" tab on the top left hand side of your computer screen.

Choose the "Open" tab under this menu and then select your PAL file.

Click on the "OK" tab and wait for the software to convert the video into DVD format.

Click on the "Burn" tab and wait for your DVD to burn.
DVD Shrink

Download the "DVD Shrink" software application (see References link). DVD Shrink is a freeware program that allows users to convert their PAL videos into the DVD standard format.

Open your computer's DVD drive and insert your blank DVD. Double click on the DVD Shrink software icon to launch the application.

Click on the "Edit" tab on the top left hand side of the software screen and then click on the "Preferences" tab.

Click on the "NTSC" format tab to convert your video into DVD format. Click on the "OK" tab to be brought back to the home screen.

Click on the "Open" tab at the top left hand side of the screen and choose your video file. Click on the "Backup!" tab and wait for the software to burn your DVD.
Ripitforme

Download the "Ripitforme" software application (see References link). Ripitforme is a freeware application that will allow you to convert the PAL videos on your computer into the DVD standard format.

Double click on the Ripitforme software icon to launch the program. Open your computer's disc drive and insert a DVD into the drive. Click on the "Open" tab at the top of the software application and select your PAL video from the small menu.

Click on "Logs/Settings" on the top of the software window and then scroll down with your mouse to the "video" section.

Click on the "NTSC" video format tab and then exit out of the window.

Go back to the main screen of the software package and click on the "1 Click Mode." The software will now burn your video to the DVD.
