How to Watch 1970s TV Shows Online
You are no longer at the mercy of local television stations or DVD distribution companies if you want to relive and re-watch your favorite 1970s TV shows. There are a number of places that allow you to watch popular shows from that era (and many more, including modern shows) on the Internet. Certain places will charge money per episode or season, while others are ad-supported and will allow you to watch your favorites free of charge.

Use Hulu (see References 1). Hulu is an ad-supported streaming site, which means not only do you not need to pay to watch your favorite shows, but you also don't have to download anything to your computer. Hulu shows play over your Internet connection. You can search for your favorite shows from the 1970s by title, genre, or network on the main Hulu web page.

Use Netflix Instant Streaming (see References 2). Netflix Instant Streaming is a pay service. As a bonus, Netflix Instant Streaming accounts come with Netflix's regular disc rental service. So for a monthly fee, you can watch many of your favorite 1970s TV shows online using Netflix's Instant Streaming service and get shows you couldn't find in the mail on disc.

Use the iTunes Store (see References 3). The iTunes Store requires you to download and install Apple's iTunes music software. The software is free, but much of the content in the iTunes Store is not. You can search for your favorite 1970s TV shows by name, artist, or genre. Individual episodes typically cost $1.99 as of May 2010 (though prices vary depending on length and quality of the episode), and full seasons vary in cost depending on the overall number of episodes.
