How to Clean a Magnetic Stripe Photo ID Card
The magnetic stripe on the back of your photo ID card contains information such as your name, address and ID number in a machine-readable format. If the stripe on the ID card becomes too dirty or has too many things on it, it will not be readable by card scanners, which may cause problems for your business practices.

Place the credit card face down on a flat surface.

Dust off the area around the credit card so that nothing can get on the card once you clean the stripe.

Wipe down the strip on the card with the ultrasoft washcloth. Repeat this step two to three times to ensure full cleaning.
