As a real estate broker in Maryland, you can sell homes and run a real estate company.

Becoming a licensed real estate broker in Maryland is not an easy process. To begin with, you must be 18 and be considered to have good moral character. For the most part, this means that you must be able to pass a criminal background check. Beyond those requirements, though, there are many educational and other qualifications that you need to meet before you can take your exam and apply for your license through the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.

Instructions

Take 60 hours of classes dealing with real estate, real estate law, and property management. This needs to be done at an approved college, and at least three hours of the 60 must deal with real estate ethics. If you have a law degree, this requirement may be waived. A list of approved education providers in Maryland is available at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's website.
