How to Get Wireless Internet for PC
Wireless networking is a convenient and effective method of connection to the Internet. You can connect to wireless networks by setting up a default wireless device or by connecting to wireless networks in your area. You can connect to wireless networks by going to the Control Panel and by accessing the wireless devices.

Turn on your wireless modem or adapter. If your computer does not have a wireless card, connect the wireless devices to your computer. If you have a modem, make sure the category 5 (Ethernet) cable is connected to the Ethernet port on the back of the computer. If USB wireless adapter, connect the USB cord to the computer's USB port.

Check if the wireless device is working. Go to the Start Menu and open the "Control Panel." Go to the "Network" section and then click on "View network computers and devices" to see all of the wireless devices connected to your computer. This works with Windows Vista and Seven. If you have Windows XP, go to the Control Panel and click on "Network Connections." If the all the wireless devices are there, then they are properly connected to your computer.

Connect to the Internet. Go to the Start Menu and click on "Connect to." This will show you a list of the wireless networks near you. Select a wireless network and click on "Connect." If you have Windows XP, Go to the Control Panel and right click on "Network Connections" and select "View Available Wireless Networks." Select a network and click on "Connect."
