Hair Accessories
-
1
Assortment of fabrics. Cut a strip of fabric measuring 12 inches long by 4 inches wide. Use any color or design you like.
-
2
Keeping elastic in your sewing kit offers convenience when making accessories. Cut a strip of elastic measuring 6 inches long. Use a piece of 1/4 inch-wide elastic.
-
-
3
Fold the strip of material in half lengthwise and sew the overlapping edges together in a straight line. This creates a tube-like structure out of the fabric.
-
4
Insert the strip of elastic into one end of the fabric tube. Feed it through until the elastic pokes through the other end of the tube. Bunch the fabric up as you pull the elastic through it.
-
5
Sew the ends of the elastic together, making sure not to sew the fabric to the elastic.
-
6
Adhere the ends of the fabric together, without attaching them to the elastic, using fabric glue. Allow the hair tie to dry for 2 hours before wearing.
Boho Wrist Bands
-
7
Cut three strips of fabric measuring 8 inches long by 2 inches wide.
-
8
Layer the strips of fabric together evenly at one end using fabric glue to keep them in place. Leave the other end strips free-flowing. Let glue dry for 15 minutes.
-
9
Braid the dangling strips of fabric tightly.
-
10
Glue the end of the braid in the same manner as before. Both ends of the braided fabric should be flatly glued.
-
11
Secure the wrist band together using a medium-sized safety pin.
