How to Set Up Wireless Internet on Vista

Click on the "Start" button from the Windows Vista desktop to check if your computer has a wireless network adapter installed, such as an Ethernet card.

Click "Control Panel," then click the "System and Maintenance" option. Click the "Device Manager" option, then click the plus sign next to the "Network Adapters" field. Locate a wireless adapter from the list.

Click the "Start" button again, then click "Control Panel." Click the "Network and Internet" option, then click "Network and Sharing Center."

Click "Connect to a network" from the left navigation pane. Click "Set up a connection or network" and then click "Manually connect to a wireless network."

Click "Next." Enter your network name and select the security type from the drop-down menu. Select the encryption type from the drop-down menu and enter the security key for your wireless connection.
