How to Draw Gir
"I'm gonna sing the Doom Song now! Doom, doom, doo-doom doom doom doom..." Despite his profound uselessness and an unfortunate penchant for causing his master, Zim, grievous bodily injury on a regular basis, the badly-behaved robot minion GIR from the award-winning but short-lived cartoon series "Invader Zim" is arguable one of the most entertaining sidekicks ever put down on paper.
Happily, you can still get your daily dose of GIR by drawing him yourself; being a simple kind of guy, he's pretty simple to draw, as well.

1
Begin by drawing two dime-sized circles with roughly a quarter-inch of space between them. Connect them at the bottommost center points of their circumferences with a gently arcing line, and at the top with half of a round-cornered rectangle.
-
2
Draw in his antenna by extending two lines curving slightly to the left and coming to point. Top this with a small circle.
-
-
3
Create a short, upward-arcing "smile" line near the right eye (dime-sized circle) with the right end of the smile almost touching the bottom of the eye. Cross it with two short vertical lines.
-
4
Draw two smaller circles below GIR's head, about the size of peas. Their distance should be narrower than the eye circles, but still about a quarter-inch apart.
-
5
Connect GIR's head to his body with two short lines for a neck, and draw in a straight, horizontal line connecting his shoulders to his head. A long, drooping "U" shape drawn from shoulder to shoulder adds GIR's final main body part.
-
6
Add two points-up cone shapes below the body for his legs, but do not connect them to the body itself; GIR runs on alien technology, and his legs do not therefore need to be attached to anything.
-
7
Two straight lines from each shoulder converging to a point and topped with a triangular hand give GIR his arms and pincers. Draw in a small ball for each "wrist" and the iconic rectangular trapdoor on his chest.
