How to Conceal a Glock 22

The difficulty in concealing a Glock 22--as with any pistol not specifically designed for concealed-carry-- lays in the fact that it is a full-sized pistol designed for open carry by law enforcement personnel, and not necessarily as a concealed weapon. You're not the first person to want to carry a Glock 22 as a concealed weapon, and you can hide the pistol from the eyes of the casual observer with just a little effort on your part.

Things You'll Need

  • Long pants
  • Jacket, sweatshirt, or suit coat

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a holster designed to be worn inside the wasteband of your pants--such as the Comptac C-Tac Holster or the Blade Tech holster.

    • 2

Put on your pants, then attach the holster's clips to your belt and place the holster inside your waistband.

    • 3

Set your Glock 22's safety to "On," Holster the weapon inside your waistband.

    • 4

Put on a suit coat or similarly long jacket that will cover the portions of the pistol sticking out of your waistband. Your Glock 22 should now be sufficiently hidden from prying eyes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your goal is to be an "Invisible carrier," the method described here is your best bet. If, however, you do not care if others realize you are carrying a weapon, the traditional "gun-in-a-fanny-pack" method--placing the weapon into a small fanny-pack specifically designed as a concealed weapon carrier--is also available. It will not make your weapon less conspicuous to those who know what to look for, but it does follow the carry-concealed laws and will allow you quick access to your weapon in the event of an emergency.

  • Never attempt to carry a loaded weapon inside your waistband without a holster, as the sweat from your body will corrode and rust the pistol.
