Wine Cork Wreath Instructions
Decorating your home is supposed to be a way of making it a reflection of your personality. You can buy items that may be representative of your personal tastes, but nothing will reflect your personality like home decor items you craft yourself. Save your old wine corks, rather than throwing them away, and make a wreath with them once you have saved up 200 or so. Ask friends and family to save their wine corks for you to use as well. To make your wine cork wreath a collection of memories, save the corks from bottles you drink at your favorite restaurants, for special occasions or on vacations.
Things You'll Need
- Approximately 200 wine corks
- Straw wreath frame
- Hot glue gun
- Green silk leaves
- Artificial grapes
- 2-inch wide ribbon in a color that coordinates with the leaves and grapes
- Scissors

Hot glue the wine corks on their sides to the straw wreath frame, which can be found at a craft store, so that they completely cover the frame.

Hot glue green silk leaves, available at craft stores and some home decor stores, around the wreath evenly spaced, approximately 2 to 3 inches apart.

Hot glue a bunch of decorative grapes resting on the inside bottom of the wreath to add to the wine theme of the wreath. You can find artificial grapes at craft and home decor stores, especially around the fall and winter holidays.

Cut an 36-inch long strip of 2-inch wide ribbon in a color that coordinates with the decorative grapes and the silk leaves. A white or brown ribbon is an easy option, or go for a printed ribbon, such as stripes or polka dots, for a more funky look.

Thread the ribbon through the center of the wreath before tying the ends in a bow. Tie the ribbon in a double knot leaving tails that are roughly a foot long each. Take the tails and fold each one in half to form loops. Then, tie the two loops in a knot for form a bow. Adjust the loops and tails of the bow until it is a good shape to get a beautiful decorative bow.

Hang the wreath by the ribbon loop.

Embellish your wreath with other items such as silk flowers or holiday themed items if you like. Just hot glue the items to the wreath.
