How to Decorate With Floor Pillows

Floor pillows have many uses.

Instructions

2. Tie a large bow around two or three pillows for a feminine or festive look. This has the added advantage of keeping them tidy when not in use. Tie pillows with a large rope for a nautical or rugged look.

   Place them on top of a coffee table for comfortable foot rests or against the arm of your sofa for a comfy backrest when reclining. Floor pillows don't have to stay on the floor.

Tips & Warnings

• Find attractive and inexpensive floor pillows at department or import stores. Be sure to take a sample of fabric or carpet snipped from a hidden corner of your floor or furniture to the store with you if you want to match your current décor.

• Floor pillows can cost anywhere from fifteen dollars at a discount department store to hundreds of dollars at high-end home stores. If you make your pillows from sheets or fabric and stuffing that you already own, they can be practically free. If you want to make your own floor pillows, choose sturdy decorator fabric and buy enough: one pillow will require three yards of 54-inch wide fabric. Buy premade pillow forms or loose stuffing. Sew the pillows on a sewing machine, by hand or by using fabric glue to close the edges.
