How to Troubleshoot Bosch Dishwasher Problems

Add rinse aid if the dishes aren't dry enough at the end of a cycle.

Bosch dishwashers are famous for their quietness. The Evolution 800 series is remarkable in that it's virtually silent. Multiple pumps minimize noise and vibration, as does a solid base. Problems with Bosch dishwashers can involve dishes, glasses, pots and pans coming out dirty or otherwise unsatisfactorily, and to operation problems like running for a long time, not starting, or noise.

Instructions

1. Arrange the dishes properly if the Bosch dishwasher becomes noisy. You should hear some water swooshing noises but the spray arm shouldn't bang against anything. Load the dishwasher and then visually inspect the spray arm's clearance before closing the door.

2. Rotate the spray arm if dishes aren't getting clean enough. The spray arm may be obstructed. Look for clogging in the nozzles. Use a toothpick to clean them. Clean the filter; rearrange the dishes so water spray reaches them; and add more detergent if the dishes aren't getting clean enough.

3. Add rinse aid if the dishes aren't dry enough at the end of a cycle. Rinse aid is crucial if you want the dishes to come out dry. Verify that you have selected the dry cycle.

4. Increase the household water temperature if the dishwasher seems to run for too long. You can increase the temperature at the hot water tank, or first try running the hot faucet at the kitchen sink for a while to draw hot water to the dishwasher.

5. Turn the water supply valve under then kitchen sink if the Bosch dishwasher isn't filling with water. It may have become shut off.
