If you enjoy playing driving or racing games on your Xbox 360 console, you probably already know that a quality driving wheel can make a big difference in making the game more realistic and enjoyable. The Microsoft Sidewinder series of PC driving wheels often receives high marks from review sites and users alike. Microsoft designed the Sidewinder driving wheel for the PC and not the Xbox 360, but with a special adapter you can quickly connect a Sidewinder wheel for use on an Xbox 360 and use it for your favorite racing games.

Power off your Xbox 360. Disconnect the game controller from the Xbox 360 console.

Plug the controller adapter cable into an empty USB port on the Xbox 360. Plug an Xbox 360 game controller into the corresponding female port on the controller adapter.

Turn on the Xbox 360, then insert a driving or racing game disc into the disc tray. Wait for the console to boot and detect the Xbox 360 game controller connected to the controller adapter.

Connect the USB cable from the Sidewinder PC wheel to the USB port on the controller adapter.

Press “O” on the Xbox 360 game controller to go to the main menu, then click on the “Settings” option, then “Controller Settings.” Change the controller setting to “USB Controller Device.” Exit the menu, then disconnect the Xbox 360 game controller. Use the steering wheel controller as you would any other Xbox 360 compatible wheel.
