Building a Trade Show Booth
A trade show booth will be required if you plan to attend a convention or other type of trade show for the purpose of promoting a product or advertise your business. Trade show booths can be made out of various materials, including particleboard and plywood. You can build a trade show booth by doing the job yourself when you have a free weekend to work on the project.
Things You'll Need
- ¼ inch 4-by-8 foot plywood sheets
- Table saw
- Three 2x4 boards measuring 8 feet each
- Circular saw
- Power drill
- Pencil
- 45-degree nail plates
- Bolts
- Socket wrench
- Jigsaw
Instructions
-
-
1
Use the tape measure and table saw to measure and cut four 6-inch wide strips from a 4-by-8 foot plywood sheet.
-
2
Measure and cut one of the strips to a length of 81 inches. Cut one of the remaining strips in half, giving you two pieces that are 48 inches long.
-
-
3
Use the circular saw to cut 12 inches from each of the 2x4 boards with the circular saw.
-
4
Drill two holes on each end of the 81-inch and 48-inch strips of plywood with the power drill.
-
5
Use the pencil and tape measure to measure and mark each of the 2x4 boards at 30 ¾ inches and 33 ¼ inches. Marks will be needed on the front and side of the boards. Drill holes in each of the marks with the power drill.
-
6
Attach one side of a 45-degree nail plate to each end of the 81-inch and 48-inch plywood strips with the bolts. Tighten the nuts on the bolts with the socket wrench. Attach the other end of the nail plate to the 2x4 boards. This will create a triangle-shaped frame.
-
7
Turn the frame over and measure the inside dimensions, with the tape measure, for the table top. Measurements will be needed for the width and the length of the two sides. Transfer the measurements to a sheet of plywood and make the cuts with the table saw.
-
8
Set the table top in place to see how it will fit. Trim the piece of wood to make it fit properly with the jigsaw.
-
9
Measure and cut the last plywood strip from step 1 to 84 ¾ inches. Attach the plywood strip to the top of the frame.
