How to Reboot a HP E-PC Without a Disk

If you had a bootable system CD or DVD inserted into your HP E-PC at the time of a restart, your computer would boot off of that disk instead of your hard drive. Instead of loading your operating system as normal, the machine would then load whatever system program was contained on the disk. If you have no such disk in your computer at the time of a restart, however, your machine will simply reboot off of your hard drive as normal.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start."

    • 2

      Click "Shut Down."

    • 3

Click "Restart." Because no system disk is inserted into your HP E-PC, your operating system will shut itself down and then immediately turn itself back on again as it does during the normal reboot procedures.
