How to Cut Inside Corner Molding
Corner molding is generally cut on a miter saw, to make two 45-degree angles in the end of each piece coming off the corner. When put together, the two cuts form 90 degrees, which is a standard corner angle. "Inside'' corner refers to the regular corners of a room, while an "outside'' corner juts out. If you can stand in a corner, it's an inside corner; if you can bang your elbow on a corner as you walk by it, it's an outside corner. Inside corners are most common when installing molding. Measure from the corner outward along one wall, using a tape measure. Pick a piece of trim longer than the measurement.

Stand the trim on your miter saw, in the position it will be when it's installed on the wall. Put the end of the board that will be in the corner under the blade, with about an inch of extra space beyond the blade.

Swivel the blade so that it points toward the long side of the trim. Swivel it to 45 degrees. Engage the saw and make the cut.

Cut the other end of the trim according to the situation at the other end of the wall. For an inside corner, repeat the process above. For an outside corner, repeat the process, but swivel the blade to point away from the long part of the trim instead of toward it.

Repeat the process for the wall coming off the other side of the corner, so the end that's meeting the original corner is mitered in the same fashion as the first piece, with a 45-degree angle pointing toward the long part of the trim.

Hold the two pieces in place, with the mitered ends butting against each other to form a seam. Nail them both to the wall with your trim nailer, putting a nail about every foot.
