How to Cook Monkfish in RuneScape

One of the skills you can gain in RuneScape is cooking. Cooking your own food can save you money when you visit the Grand Exchange for supplies, and it can save your character's life when you need a quick way to regenerate health. Monkfish is one of the more advanced items you can cook, but it can help push your character all the way to level 99 cooking.

Instructions

    • 1

Advance your character's cooking and fishing skills to level 62 before you attempt to catch or cook monkfish. You will not be able to catch or cook the fish at all until you reach those levels.

    • 2

Decide whether you will use a range or a fire that you build yourself. Cooking your monkfish on a range makes it less likely that the fish will burn, but it does pose a slight inconvenience, because it forces you to travel to town--interrupting whatever other tasks you may be working on.

    • 3

Walk up to either the fire or the range. You must be standing right next to the range or the fire in order to cook your monkfish.

    • 4

Open your inventory by clicking on the bag to the lower-right-hand side of your screen. Search through your inventory for your raw monkfish. Ensure that the text over the fish reads as "raw" before clicking the fish.

    • 5

Click on the fire or the range to cook your monkfish. Within a matter of seconds, the fish will return to your inventory--either cooked or burnt.

Tips & Warnings

  • The optimal levels for cooking monkfish are 90 through 99, because the chances of burning the fish are minimal.

  • At level 90 cooking, your monkfish will no longer burn on the range. When you reach level 92 cooking, you will no longer burn monkfish on a fire.

  • If your monkfish burns, discard it. There is no use whatsoever for burnt fish.
