1
Cut two three-foot sections and two one-foot sections of two-by-four boards using a table saw. Measure each section first, mark them with a pencil and ruler and cut them.
-
2
Cut a 3-foot by 15-inch section of plywood on the table saw. Use the tape measure and a pencil to measure this section and then cut it on the table saw.

3
Assemble the two-by-four sections into a box frame placing the two long sides parallel to each other, with the two one-foot sections secured to the ends in between the longer boards. Drive nails through the ends of the boards with a hammer to secure them together. You may also use a power drill and screws to secure the boards together.
-
4
Place the plywood sheet on top of the wood frame created in step three. Drive three-inch nails through the top of the plywood into the two-by-four boards with a hammer. Use three to five nails per side.
-
5
Cut two 15-by-26 inch sections of plywood using the table saw. Attach one to each end of the wood frame so the edge of the boards is plumb with the top edge of the frame. Secure the boards together with a hammer and three-inch nails or power drill and wood screws.
-
6
Cut one more section of two-by-four board to the length of three feet. Attach this to the center of the bench legs as a brace between the boards. Use a hammer and three-inch nails to attach the board to the plywood.
