How to Find My IP Address on a Belkin 54G Router

Every computer that is a connected to a network has an IP address. Although sometimes the IP address can be entered manually (called a static IP address), most of the time the computer connects to a server (called DHCP server) that provides it with an address. You can access your router's Web utility to view your IP address.

  • Belkin 54G Router
  • Computer

Instructions

      Open a Web browser and enter "192.168.2.1." Before doing this, make sure you computer is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.

      Click on "Submit" if you have not set up a password for your 54G router. If you have set up a password, enter the password, then click on "Submit."

      Click on DHCP Client List from the menu to the left. It is the second option under "LAN Setup."

      Find your IP address from the list of connected devices. If there are several devices connected to the router and you do not know which is yours, disconnect all of the cables from the back of the router except the one going to your computer. Click on "Refresh." The only device left on the list is your computer.
