How to Watch a Bunch of Rar Files
File compression is a technique used to make computer files take up less hard drive space, which allows for faster file transfer and easier file storage. RAR files are compressed files that end in a .rar extension. Like .zip files, .rar files must be decompressed or extracted before the underlying file that was compressed, such as video files, can be used normally. Extracting RAR files requires software designed to decompress the .rar format.
Instructions

1
Browse your computer for the .rar files you want to open. To begin browsing, right-click "Start" and click "Explore."
-
2
Double-click on the .rar file to being extraction. Your .rar extracting program should be associated with .rar file types and launch automatically. If you need a .rar extraction program, popular programs include WinRAR, 7-zip and BitZipper (see Resources). You may also be able to right-click on the .rar file and choose "Extract Files Here" or "Extract Here."

3
Double-click on the first of the resulting .rar file pieces or right-click on it and select "Extract Files Here" or "Extract Here" to extract the video file from the pieces. Some compressed .rar video files extract into several more .rar files or into one .rar file and several other files that are pieces of the video. These files will have the extension ".r" followed by a number (e.g., .r01, .r02, etc.). If this happens, extract the first .rar file of the bunch to the current folder to create the video file from the .rar pieces; if the original .rar file extracts into ".r" pieces there should be a single new .rar master file that goes with them that you can extract to create the video file.
-
4
Repeat the steps for all video .rar files that you want to open.
-
5
Double-click on any extracted video file to launch it with your default media player application. You can also right-click on a video file and choose "Open With" to choose the video player that you want to use to watch the video.
