Instructions

    • 1

Remove all bedding and wash it. It does no good to clean the mattress and not the bedding.

    • 2

Remove the mattress and take it outside. Spray the mattress with a fabric odor remover. Let the mattress sit outside for several hours so it warms in the sun and airs out. Bring the mattress back inside.

    • 3

Sprinkle a small layer of baking soda on the mattress. The baking soda will help remove the remaining odors. Let the baking soda sit on the mattress overnight.

    • 4

Vacuum the baking soda off the mattress.

Tips & Warnings

  • Placing fabric softener sheets between the sheets and the mattress can help keep the mattress smelling nice. However, fabric softeners use perfumes. If you are sensitive to the smell, you may develop headaches. If this happens, remove the fabric softeners, or replace them with a different fragrance.
