How to Join Club Penguin
In the quest for finding safe Internet play for your youngster, include the vast and friendly snow-covered land at Disney's Club Penguin. In this virtual, frosty playground, your child can make her own penguin, select a name for the penguin and then direct the penguin through many different locations, games and activities within the Club Penguin site. When you join Club Penguin, you have the option of joining under a free membership or purchasing a membership for your child for a nominal fee.

Visit the Club Penguin website. Explore the site to learn how it works and see the different options for play. Parents can learn about the site by clicking on the special "Parents" icon at the bottom of the home page.

Click "Play Now" when you are ready to create a penguin. Select "Create a Penguin" and then read the rules of the Club Penguin website on the next page. Agree to the rules by placing check marks in the appropriate boxes and then click "Continue."

Make up a penguin name and enter the name in the empty field. Do not use your child's real name as a penguin name for security measures. Select a color for your penguin and click "Continue." If another penguin already has the name you choose, you will see a window suggesting an alternative name. Use this suggested name in the empty name field or think of another name and click "Continue."

Select a password and enter it twice. Enter a parent's email address in the bottom field and click "Continue." Check this email address for an activation email to continue the process for creating your penguin account. After you activate the account, you can then set limits for how your child communicates with other penguins. Click "Continue."

Read and agree to the Terms of Use and click "Continue."

Proceed with a free membership by clicking "Play Now" on the next screen. If you want to pay for a membership and give your child the ability to earn coins and purchase clothing and igloo-decorating items, click "Get Your Membership."

Select the membership option you desire (monthly, biannually or annually) and proceed through the payment process to purchase the membership.
