How to End a Bid on eBay
People from all over the world use eBay to purchase and sell items using an auction-style format. Nearly any item can be listed for auction, including automobiles, antiques and electronics. Listings run for three to 10 days. Naturally, you may run into instances where you need to end a bid listing prematurely. eBay allows this, although it is preferred if you let your listing run its designated amount of time. Canceling a bid listing requires you to follow a few steps before eBay officially removes your listing.

Tips & Warnings
If your auction has less than 12 hours remaining and you simply want to cancel and not pay the highest bidder, contact the bidders and tell them your situation. Encourage them to retract their bids. Contact bidders by clicking on their name next to "Bidders" on your item listing page.
Contact the winning bidder if you choose to end your listing and sell to the highest bidder. Confirm that the bidder still wishes to complete the sale. If he does not, file an unpaid item form (see references) and note that you and the buyer do not agree to a sale. An email will be sent to the buyer to confirm this.
Listing fees are still imposed if you end a listing.
eBay investigates abuse of ending listings early, especially when reserve prices have not been met.
