How to Install the Sims 2 Nightlife
The virtual world of "The Sims 2" lets you build a neighborhood of Sims characters, Electronic Arts (EA) provides an extensive collection of expansion packs to further your Sims play and make it more entertaining. "Nightlife" is the second of many expansion packs designed to complement the base "Sims 2" game. With the installation of the base game, you can then install the expansion packs to give your "Sims 2" play more options and abilities.

Back up your "Sims 2" game to protect it in the event that installing "Nightlife" corrupts your game. Open "My Documents" and then "EA Games" and then right-click on "The Sims2" folder. Copy the folder and paste the copy onto your Desktop.

Remove any hacks you have installed into your base game temporarily before you install the "Nightlife" expansion pack. Rename "The Sims2" file something that identifies it as a backup file and move its current location to another temporary location on your hard drive.

Insert the CD for "The Sims 2: Nightlife" into your CD drive and wait while it boots. Follow the prompts to enter the product key and install the expansion pack in the default installation location.

Run "The Sims 2" by always using the disc of the most recent expansion pack. If "Nightlife" is the newest expansion pack you own, run the game by using this CD. If you have other expansion packs more recent than "Nightlife," run "The Sims 2" by using the newest of these expansion packs.

Play the "Nightlife" expansion pack on "The Sims 2" without your hacks initially to ensure you have no bugs or problems. After you know the game works correctly and you have used it enough to utilize all of the new features, move your hack file back to the "EA Games" folder to see how the game works with the hacks. You may have to troubleshoot problems with individual hacks after you do this.
