How to Make a Print From a Slide
If you have slides from vacations, family gatherings or other events, you can make prints of them using your PC or Mac, a slide scanner and your own desktop printer. Once you have scanned the slides, you can give digital copies to your family and friends on a CD or flash drive. You can use any kind of slide scanner for converting slides to digital files and then making prints.

1
Connect the slide scanner to your computer through its USB cable and plug in the power cord. Slide scanners are plug-and-play, which means that your computer will recognize the new hardware and it will be ready to use right away. You will see a menu for the slide scanner pop up.
-
2
Select where you want the scanned slides to be saved, and select the highest quality scan possible from the menu.
-
-
3
Check the orientation of the slide you want to scan by holding it up to a light. The scanner will scan the slide from the front of the slide---the side that will face down in the scanner---so make sure you have it in the right direction.
-
4
Place the slide into the slide scanner. Some scanners can scan up to four slides at once, so if you have a lot of slides to scan, this is a good option. Close the cover of the slide scanner and click on "scan" on the menu on your computer. The scan may take a few moments.
-
5
Insert photo paper into your printer. Open the digital scan of the slide from your computer. Select "print" from the menu options offered at the bottom of the slide. The slide will print onto the photo paper, creating a print.
