Instructions

    • 1

Open the garage door so the birds will fly out. If the garage has windows, open them as well.

    • 2

Hang a bird feeder from the opening of the garage. This will invite the birds to move toward the opening of the garage, and make it more likely that they will fly away after they eat some of the bird seed. You can hammer in one nail on the top beam of the garage opening and hang the bird feeder from the string. After the birds leave, take down the bird feeder so you don't attract more birds.

    • 3

Take a net or a laundry basket and try to catch the birds. You'll have to catch one bird at a time and release them outside.

    • 4

Close the garage door, close the curtains on the windows, and shut the main garage light. Some birds, such as hummingbirds, are unable to fly in the dark and will gently land on the ground.

    • 5

Turn on a flashlight so you can see and grab the birds with a net. Be sure to only catch one at a time.

    • 6

Open the garage door and release the birds outside.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear gloves when trying to remove birds from a garage, because they might carry bacteria or parasites.

  • Take care not to injure the birds when catching them.
