How to Recover Deleted Quicken Files
Quicken is a money-management software application that helps you organize your personal and business finances. By aggregating financial data from your various accounts, Quicken allows you the ability to track inventory, create balance sheets and cash flow statements, and create bill payment schedules. Quicken recommends that you always keep a backup of your account information, as deleted accounts cannot be recovered without a backup. While Quicken automatically creates backups every seven days, you have the option to create manual backups.

Open your Recycle Bin to check if the deleted Quicken files are still available to be restored. If you have not yet emptied your Recycle Bin and the Quicken files are contained within, right-click and select "Restore." This method will save time versus restoring a Quicken backup and may contain more recent data.

Open Quicken. Click "File," "Backup and Restore," then "Restore from Backup File."

Select "Restore from automatic backups" and highlight the most recent entry, or select "Restore from your backup" if your manual backup is more recent. If restoring from your own backup, navigate to the location where your Quicken backup is stored. This may be on your hard drive, CD, flash drive or a network-connected storage device.

Click "Overwrite the open file with the restored file," then "Restore Backup."

Click "OK" when notified that the backup restoration process is complete.

Tips & Warnings
To adjust your backup preferences, click on "Edit," "Preferences," then "Quicken Preferences." Select "Backup" under the "Select preference type" tab. Here you can edit your options as needed.
