How to Change Shortcut Icons in Windows Mobile

Window Mobile is the operating system (OS) produced by Microsoft based on the legacy Windows CE OS. The Windows Mobile OS is used on PDAs and other smartphones worldwide. Although Windows Mobile is designed to provide a similar look and feel to the Windows operating system found on desktop and laptop computers, the steps required to create shortcut icons vary from those on the desktop computer OS. If you own a device using the Windows Mobile OS, you may have the need arise to create new shortcut icons.

      Tap the "Start," "Programs" and "File Explorer" menu options.

      Select the folder that contains the application for which you desire to create a shortcut icon to place on the Windows Mobile main screen.

      Tap and hold the program icon until a secondary menu is displayed. Select the "Copy" menu option.

      Select the menu in the upper-left position on the mobile device screen and choose the "My Device" menu to display the primary folder of the phone or PDA.

      Select the "Windows," "Start," and "Programs" menu folders. Select and hold on an open area of the "Programs" folder followed by selecting the "Paste Shortcut" menu option.

      Exit the window and return to the main screen of your portable device by pressing the "Home" button on your phone. The new shortcut will be displayed.
