- Paper
- Printer
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Thin felt-tipped marker or calligraphy pen
Instructions

-
1
Open a new document in any design-capable software, including graphic design software such as CorelDRAW, photo imaging software like Adobe Photoshop or even your word processor. Set the canvas size (document size) to 4 inches by 6 inches or smaller.
-
2
Use the tools available in the software to add borders and decorative accents to the document. The tools available will vary depending on the software.
-
-
3
Type a title at the top of the document such as "Gift Certificate" or "This Certificate Entitles You to..." Use a fancy font, perhaps in script, for the title.
-
4
Type "To" or "For" under the title in smaller font and then add a line next to it, where you can handwrite a name later. Underneath "To," add another small line for writing in a dollar amount or a gift value. Finally, type "From" under the gift amount, adding an additional line for writing the giver's name.
-
5
Place paper in to the printer, and select the printer icon at the top of your document. Select the number of gift certificates you want to print and then click "OK."
-
6
Cut the gift certificate to remove the excess paper using scissors or a paper cutter. Fill in the blank sections on the certificate as needed using a thin felt-tipped marker or calligraphy pen.
