If you want to hang a coin from a necklace as a pendant but can't find a bezel the coin will fit into, you can make one out of wire. A bezel is a component that holds the coin and also has a loop at the top so you can attach it to a chain. With a few simple materials and the right tools, you can easily create a wire bezel that will securely hold your coin.

Step 1

Cut a piece of 20-gauge wire, with a pair of wire cutters, about 1 foot long. Bend the wire in half and twist a 1/8 inch loop just below the bend. Twist three times to secure the loop.

Step 2

Wrap the outside of the coin with the wire three or four times right below the twist you made. Bend the the wire slightly so that it overlaps the edge of the coin in even increments around the front and back. Press the wire down against the coin with a pair of pliers to make sure it is secure.

Step 3

Twist the ends of the wire around the remaining wire and snip off any small ends that are sticking out, so you won't get scratched by them. Feed a chain or cord through the loop and wear your new wire-wrapped coin pendant around your neck.
