PCs can play a number of video file formats that a Macintosh computer cannot, such as AVI and Windows Media video. Converting a Mac movie file to one of these other video formats allows for more versatility when used on a PC. While there are a number of programs that can convert a Mac movie file into a specific video format, the Quicktime Pro Player program can convert a Mac Movie file into a number of these PC-compatible video formats. The Quicktime Player Program is also cross-platform and works in a similar fashion on PCs as it does on Macs.
