      Visit the Vital Records website (see Resources).

      Click on the "Birth Certificate" link.

      Select the state in which your deceased father was born.

      Click on the state's vital records link.

      Scroll down to your choices. Locate the birth certificates choice and click on "Order Online."

      Click on "Birth" and click continue.

    • 7

      Enter the information requested in the appropriate boxes and click "Continue."

    • 8

      Enter your name, address and payment information and click "Continue."

    • 9

      Confirm your order and click "Submit." Your copy of the birth certificate will be mailed to you.

Tips & Warnings

  • To search for your father's birth record, you must know the date of birth and full name of your father, as well as the state where he was born.
