How to Make Your Own Memo Pad

How to Make Your Own Memo Pad thumbnail
Use colored paper for memo pads.

Whether for grocery lists, love notes or telephone messages, make a memo pad out of any color standard-size copier paper. You won't need glue or staples to assemble your memo pad; grosgrain ribbon binds the note papers. Write a message and simply tear the note paper away from the ribbon binding. Make a memo pad for your own note-taking or to give as gifts for teachers or secretaries.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut small stacks of copier paper into equal halves. Use a ruled paper cutter or scissors and ruler to ensure exactly equal size note papers.

    • 2

Insert small stacks of approximately 10 note papers into a three-hole punch. Slide the punch lever so that the note papers are aligned to receive only two hole punches at the top of each stack.

    • 3

Stack the note papers together to align the holes. Cut a 24-inch grosgrain ribbon (1/4-inch wide) into two 12-inch pieces. Feed one piece of ribbon through each hole in the stacks, and tie at the top of the memo pad.

Tips & Warnings

  • Print a personalized phrase or funny quote on your memo pad. Using the landscape print feature in a word processing program, type and print your personalized phrase on both halves of each piece of paper.
