A good business lesson plan introduce students to various business aspects.

A business lesson plan should encompass all of the aspects of running a business. For a lesson plan to be effective, you may want to choose one or two aspects to focus on while you plan. The things you talk about will depend on the audience you are creating the lesson plan for and the curriculum you are required to teach. When creating a business lesson plan, include practical examples of the concepts you are teaching.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose the subject that you are going to teach from the textbook or the curriculum guide provided for the class. Write down the objectives that you want to achieve as well as the curriculum standard number that you will be teaching. For example if you are teaching about starting a business the objective would be: Students will list the steps it takes to starting a business.

    • 2

Outline a short lecture on the business subject that you have chosen. The lecture should teach what the concept is and how it applies to both large and small business. It is important to include a practical application in the lecture.

    • 3

Create an activity that allows students to master the concept. For example, if you are teaching about starting a business, the students could create a business plan and determine the amount of capital they need to start the business.

    • 4

Give the students additional resources they can use to find information on the subject. This may include the textbook, websites or organizations they can contact to learn more.

    • 5

Allow the students time to ask questions about the matter. Class discussion also allows students to internalize a subject.

    • 6

Test the student's knowledge through a quiz or an assignment.

Tips & Warnings

  • Depending on the depth of the subject you may need to break the lesson plan into several sections and cover various aspects over several days. Be sure to include the references for any research or material you cite in the lesson plan for you to refer to if you use the lesson plan again.

  • Creating a visual aid such as a PowerPoint presentation or using pictures to demonstrate concepts can help hold the students' attention and makes the lesson more interesting. If you can talk about current events or local businesses, this can also help make the material more relevant to the students.
