Play your favorite games without a disk.

Computer games are fun, but sometimes it's difficult to keep track of your disks. Whether you've lost your game disk, or it's no longer working, you can still play your favorite games on your computer without a CD by downloading a No-CD patch for the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to a website that hosts No-CD Patches for computer games, such as Gameburnworld.com. At the top of the page, click on the first letter of the game you want to play without a disk. Find the game in the alphabetical list and click on it.

    • 2

Click on the most recent patch for the game you want. Make sure it's also in the same language. Once you are prompted to download the file, download and save it in a folder you will remember.

    • 3

Download WinRAR on Rarlab.com. Once you have installed WinRAR, go back to the folder in which you saved the file. Right click the file, then select "Extract to..." to open it in WinRAR. Save the extracted file to your game's program files folder to replace the original ".exe" file. Once you run your game, your computer will recognize the file you downloaded as the game's CD.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although it's illegal to burn a game and sell, rent, or give it to others, it is not illegal to have a backup copy on your computer.
