Electromagnetic Induction Cooking
Electromagnetic induction cooking is a relatively new method of cooking and preparing foods. These cooktops have no open flames and are extremely safe to work with. In order to cook food, these cooktops generate magnetic fields which come in contact with ferrous cookware. The special properties of this cookware allow it to heat up and cook the food. Heat levels are controlled by adjusting a knob on the cooktop, just like on other types of stovetops. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place a ferrous cookware piece on the induction cooktop. Ferrous cookware is cookware that has magnetic properties and may be labeled as such on the packaging. Stainless steel and cast iron cookware is considered ferrous. Some cookware also has ferrous inserts. Induction cooktops use magnetism to generate heat in the pan so no other types of cookware will work.

Turn on the induction cooktop and allow the pan to preheat to desired levels. Apply cooking oils or butter to the cookware surface and add food. The cooking process with induction cooking is identical to that of traditional methods.

Turn off the induction cooktop once finished. Unlike other means of heat generation for cooking, leaving the cookware on the cooktop will not keep it hot. Ferrous cookware does not require any special cleaning or care. Simply clean and care for your cookware as you normally would with other types of pans.
