To obtain a property and casualty insurance license in Georgia you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Georgia. Having a property and casualty insurance license allows you to sell insurance for cars, businesses and homes. Property and casualty insurance agents tailor their plans to fit their clients needs.

      Complete a 40 hour pre-licensing course online or in person through an institution that has been approved by the state of Georgia.

      Pass the multiple choice licensing test with a score of 70 or better. After you have passed the test you will receive a certificate of completion for the course and your test results.

      Complete the insurance license application for Georgia. As of May 2010, along with your application you will need to mail $75, your test scores and your certificate showing you have completed the course.

      Wait to receive your Georgia property and casualty license in the mail.

      Complete the agency licensing form if your business is not a sole proprietorship. If you do not need to register your company then you can skip this step.
