How to Beat Big Nate Island
Created by the Family Education Network in September 2007, Poptropica is an online adventure game aimed at children. In this game, players explore a virtual world by competing quests, meeting quirky characters, hunting for treasure and playing mini games. As of May 2010, the Poptropica world consists of 13 islands, including Big Nate Island. The developers introduced this island on February 12, 2009 and it is based on the Lincoln Peirce comic strip "Big Nate."

Travel to Big Nate Island by clicking on the map icon and selecting the "Poptropica Map" link. Click on "Big Nate."

Find all nine "Big Nate" comic strips. These comics are in these locations:
Klassic Komix: Talk to shopkeeper to receive the strip.
Pop-In Shoppe: Go to the second floor. The comic strip is sitting on the green couch.
Photo Studio: At the top of the large light.
Playground: At the top of the climbing wall, floating in the air.
Science Lab: On the solar system mobile decoration.
Puffin Point: On the top of the lighthouse.
Main Street: Located on the telephone pole, on the right of the street.
School: On the top floor, on top of a speaker. Another comic strip is located outside the school, sitting on a wood plank near the right of the building.Take all nine pieces to Klassic Komix and give them to the shopkeeper. He rewards you with gum.

Visit the school and enter the locker room. Use the combination "9305" on the overstuffed locker and receive the blueprint.

Enter the lighthouse, climb to the top and take the old photograph. Enter the school and hand the photo to the school official. As a reward, he gives you scuba diving gear.

Visit the lighthouse area and put the scuba gear on. Click "Dive" to enter the ocean. Swim towards the right and locate the lobster trap. Exit the water and give the lobster trap to Cap'n Salty, who in return, gives you a jet ski key.

Go to the top of the lighthouse and turn on the light using a lobster. Look through the telescope to see Seal Island. Exit the lighthouse, start the jet ski and race Nate to Seal Island. You must beat Nate to the island to proceed.

Move the seals to the left of the rock, once at Seal Island. Lift the rock to receive a map and ride the jet ski back to the main land.

Enter the school and go to the science lab to create a stink bomb. Go into the school hallway and stand outside the detention room. Use the gum to blow a bubble to get Mrs. Godfrey to put you in detention.

Throw the stink bomb in the detention classroom to make Mrs. Godfrey leave. Walk to the filing cabinet and climb down the ladder. Take the bell clapper, climb up the ladder and use the clapper to ring the bell.

Go to the playground and enter the "Kids Only" building. Play a game of Hangman with Nate. If you win the game, Nate gives you crackers as a reward. Locate the area where the girls are playing and set a cracker on the ground. A dog will arrive and dig holes until he finds a capsule.

Click on the capsule. Once open, click on the gold button to pass Big Nate Island and receive a medal.

Tips & Warnings
When racing Nate to Seal Island, jumping your jet ski every two or three seconds almost always wins the race, even if you hit a few obstacles along the way.
