How to Connect Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router With a DSL Connection
Digital subscriber line, or DSL, connections offer a fast way to access the Internet. Unfortunately, the DSL modems that typically ship from your Internet Service Provider usually only connect to one computer. If you have any other computers that need a connection, you're out of luck. This is where the Linksys WRT54G routers come in, because these devices allow DSL connections to multiple PCs and devices.

Connect to your DSL modem by typing the modem's Internet protocol (IP) address or host name in your Web browser. Refer to your manual for the specific IP name.

Set your modem to be in "Bridge mode." The setting for this varies from modem to modem, but is typically found in the connection or network settings.

Remove the Ethernet cable connection from the computer, then attach it to the "Internet" port on the Linksys router.
