The AOL Internet application will save your account passwords, eliminating the risk of a forgotten password. If you change your account password after storing it, you need to update the saved password to avoid having to retype it every time you log in. AOL provides multiple options for modifying your account password settings. Your AOL account password also controls the AIM account under the same screen name.

Instructions

  1. Sign On Screen

      Launch your AOL application by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or navigating to the “Programs” menu.

      Select the screen name you want from the dropdown list. Click the check box beside the “Save Password” option to clear the box. Delete the password from the input field. Enter your new password in the “Password” field.

      Click the check boxes beside the “Remember Me” (if available) and “Save Password” options to select them. Click “Sign In” to store your password.

    Keyword System

      Launch AOL by double-clicking the desktop icon or selecting it from the “Programs” menu. Sign in to AOL with the account you want to modify.

      Click the “Keyword” button and enter “Store Password.” Click “Go” to load the keyword link.

      Clear the check mark in the “Sign On” box and delete the password from the input field. Enter your new password, then click “Sign On” to select the box. Click “Save.”
