How to Install the Sims 2
Are you tired of your own life? Want to see what it would have been like if you were a movie star or a crime lord? Want to buy all the nice furniture, own the penthouse suite, and start a family with the most attractive virtual people imaginable? If yes, then maybe The Sims 2 is for you. This "game" allows you to live out the lives and livelihood of cast of characters you create. You decorate their world, guide them through the achievements and failures of their lives, and help them secure the jobs they dream of.

Acquire The Sims 2 CDs. As of 2010, you can still purchase the game via the developer's website at Electronic Arts.

Insert CD 1 into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Your computer will ask you if you wish to install the game. Click "Yes."

Select your language, either English or Spanish, and press "Next.

Enter your product key which comes with the game CDs and press "Next."

Select "Typical User" and press "Next." This will install The Sims 2 in its default directory.

Click "Yes" to proceed with the installation. An progress bar will appear on-screen.

Insert CD 2 when prompted and click "Continue." When the progress bar is 100% complete, you'll be able to play the game.
