1
Inspect the spark plug. If the snow blower is difficult to start, the spark plug may be defective. Replace the spark plug with a new one.
-
2
Check the fuel supply and fill it if needed. If the engine is running erratically, the gas tank may be empty or near empty.
-
-
3
Add fresh gasoline along with a fuel stabilizer additive if the gas is old. Old, stale gasoline can cause the engine to run erratically.
-
4
Move the choke lever to the "Run" position if the engine has been stalling during use, because the unit may have been running on choke.
-
5
Inspect the gas cap vent. If the snowblower suddenly loses power, the gas cap vent hole may be blocked or plugged. Remove any snow and ice that has accumulated on the gas cap.
-
6
Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Clean out the discharge chute. This should solve the problem if the snowblower isn't discharging snow, because the discharge chute may be clogged or blocked.
