How to Sell Wooden Pallets

There are a variety of uses for used wooden pallets.

Wooden pallets used in manufacturing and shipping are created from sturdy new wood, which gives them a value on the resale market. Old pallets can be made into furniture or theater sets or refurbished and used on new construction jobs. Pallets can be ground for use in mulch or composite wood products. Whether you've got a few pallets or a truck full, you have many potential outlets when selling used wooden pallets.

Instructions

1. Separate out any broken pallets from viable pallets. Some companies will still purchase broken pallets, though the price will be lower.

2. Search for companies that buy used pallets in your local phone directory. Call companies directly to see whether they will purchase used pallets.

3. List your used pallets for sale on the North American Pallet Recycling Network (see Resources). This directory allows users to create listings to buy, sell or trade pallets.

4. Advertise your pallets in your community newspaper and online through Craigslist.

5. Contact local furniture makers, artists and theater companies to see if they need your used pallets for the wood.

6. Sell your pallets to any interested parties, either individually or as a lot. Arrange to deliver the pallets to the buyer or have him pick them up at your home or business.
