How to Cut Sedu Hairstyles

Instructions

1. Examine the hair's texture. The Sedu hairstyle you embark upon will have to do with the client's natural hair texture. Sedu styling tools will help any texture reach a shiny, smooth appearance, but you want the client to be able to achieve these results with minimum effort. If the client has wavy hair that is coarse, long layers should be the goal of the haircut. For those with fine hair, texturizing hair will add the appearance of volume.

3. Section hair off and fasten with plastic clips. To create an even amount of layers throughout the client's hair, you will need to section it off. This will vary on how much hair the client has. Each section should have about a 4 by 6-inch patch of hair.

   Someone with very thick hair will have five or six sections, while those with medium to thin hair will have three or four. Section hair off at the crown, a section at either side of the head and then section off remaining hair into equal parts. Sectioning for the remaining hair should begin just below the crown and continue to the nape of the neck.

4. Begin cutting hair. Use a fine tooth comb to grab small sections of hair (about 2-3 inches of hair at a time). Use your index and middle finger as a guide to create a line to cut along. Hold fingers at a diagonal to create layers that will fall correctly once hair is dry. For areas around the face, use a razor technique. Comb through the hair and hold hair between your index and middle finger. Cut away excess hair that comes through the fingers, which is usually the last 1/4 inch to 1 inch of hair.

5. Blow hair dry and then section off to create a Sedu hairstyle. Blow dry hair completely and then section off as you did with prepping the hair for the cut. Use a fine tooth comb to comb through hair with each stroke of the Sedu flat iron for a flawless finish.
