How to Kill Pokemon

Pokemon is an RPG (role-playing game) that is wildly popular among children, teenagers, and even some adults. Unlike in most RPG games, where the main character usually takes part in all the battles, in Pokemon, you play the role of trainer who must rely on the strength of various creatures to fight for you. While the first few fights in the game may seem relatively easy, even for beginners, as the game progresses you will be required to be increasingly strategic in the Pokemon you choose and the
battle moves you teach them.

Instructions

    • 1

Assemble a balanced team of Pokemon. There are quite a few different types of Pokemon, so it is a good idea to try to catch and train as many of those types as you can. This will help ensure that you always have something in your arsenal that will be effective in battle.

    • 2

Train your Pokemon. Level up your team of Pokemon by engaging in random battles against wild Pokemon. If you can make them strong enough, they might even evolve into a new, more powerful version of the Pokemon.

    • 3

Know the strengths and weaknesses of different Pokemon types. For instance, water-type Pokemon are weak against electric types yet are strong against fire types. If you know the types of Pokemon you are going to face off against, you can build a more effective team to counter them.

    • 4

Slow down your opponents in battle. There are certain moves that Pokemon can learn that will prevent your opponents from attacking as often in a battle. Electrical Pokemon, in particular, usually have moves like "Thunder Wave" that can paralyze other Pokemon.

    • 5

Heal your Pokemon. You won't win any battles if your Pokemon don't have any HP (hit points), so make sure you frequent the nearest hospital to heal them often while training. You can also buy a variety of healing potions from the PokeMart that will actually let you heal your Pokemon while they are in battle.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a weak Pokemon that you want to level up, place them in the first position in your party so they will always be the first to enter battle. When the battle starts, simply switch out the weak Pokemon for one of your stronger Pokemon. If you win, at the end of the battle the weak Pokemon will still gain experience because they participated in the battle.

  • You can teach your Pokemon specific moves by using the TM's (technical machines) and HM's (hidden machines) that you collect throughout the game.

  • Battles with other Pokemon trainers and gym leaders are usually much more difficult than battles with wild Pokemon. Make sure you heal your Pokemon and buy the necessary healing items before engaging in these battles.
