How to Make Ninja Weapons
A ninja was a mercenary in Feudal Japan. Ninjas performed assassinations, espionage and other acts of war. Ninjas used many weapons to accomplish these feats, including short swords and land mines. Two of the most well-known ninja weapons are the throwing star and the blowgun. Both of these weapons give the ninja range so that he can attack from afar. Although a ninja may have trained for years to perfect the art of using these tools, you can make them at home in a relatively straightforward process.
Things You'll Need
- Marker
- Ruler
- Thin aluminum sheet
- Metal Cutters
- Pliers
- Duct Tape
- 1-inch by 1-foot PVC pipe, 1 piece
- Compact Disc
- Exacto Knife
Instructions
-
Blow Gun
-
1
Use the marker and ruler to measure out a triangle on the metal sheet with a base of 3 inches.
-
2
Cut out the triangle on the aluminum sheet using the metal cutters.
-
-
3
Roll the triangle into a cone. Crimp the tip of the cone together using the pliers.
-
4
Use duct tape to seal the edges of the cone together to minimize drag from wind. For added weight and speed, insert gum into the tip of the cone through the base. This is your dart.
-
5
Insert the dart into the 1-inch wide by 1-foot long PVC pipe. Aim at a target and blow the dart through the pipe.
Ninja Stars
-
6
Use the Compact Disc (CD) to make a ninja star. Note the open ring at the center of the CD and the larger ring encircling it.
-
7
Place the ruler tangential to the ring encircling the hole at the center of the CD. Trace a line from one end of the CD to another using the ruler.
-
8
Use the ruler to draw another line parallel to the first one you drew, but on the other side of the concentric circle.
-
9
Turn the CD 90 degrees. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create another pair of parallel lines.
-
10
Use the ruler to draw a line from the intersection of one line and the perimeter of the CD to the intersection of a parallel line and the inner concentric circle. Repeat this step until you've created four diagonal lines. Use the exacto knife and ruler to cut evenly along the path that the diagonal lines made with the parallel lines. Doing so creates the shape of a ninja throwing star. Repeat this process for as many stars as you want.
