How to Boot a Computer From an XP Disc on the Acer 3010

TravelMate 3010 is a popular model of notebook computer manufactured by Acer. To repair or reinstall the Windows XP operating system on your Acer 3010 laptop, you need to boot the machine from a CD. However, a hard drive--not a CD-ROM drive--is the first device in the boot sequence. On this Acer laptop model, you have to change BIOS settings to alter the boot sequence.

Instructions

Place the Windows XP CD into the optical drive of your Acer 3010 laptop.

    • 2

      Reboot your Acer 3010 laptop.
