How to Install a Driver
Drivers are software that allows your computer to communicate with its hardware. Without drivers, your hardware will not install properly and may cause errors within the computer system. For example, a video card without a driver will not work properly and may cause colors and pictures to not display properly. Finding and installing the necessary drivers for your hardware is simple and takes little time.

Download drivers from the manufacturer. Nearly all hardware manufacturers have a portion of their website dedicated to drivers. Find out what piece of hardware needs a driver installed and the manufacturer of the hardware. Go to the manufacturer' site and either find the "Drivers" or "Downloads" tab or type in "Drivers" in the search bar on the site. Some, however, are downloaded as a compressed file. Extract these files by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Extract to." Choose "Desktop." Find the extracted file in your computer. Double-click the.exe file and follow the step-by-step instructions to install the driver.
