How to Draw a Moose
Moose are large, sturdy animals that are most often identified by their huge antlers and thick necks. They most similarly resemble horses and reindeer but have a few tell tale qualities that set them apart. When drawing a moose, it's important to focus on each individual part thoroughly before moving on to the next. Using bold lines and smooth curves will help emphasize the moose's muscular qualities.

1
Sketch the general outline of the body of the moose on a piece of drawing paper with a pencil. Don't add any details yet, just get a large body, long legs, a thick neck, and small head drawn with very light lines. The shape should be similar to that of a buffalo.
-
2
Use the side of your pencil to add some wispy fur effects around the edges of the body. Emphasize some longer wisps underneath the moose's neck.

3
Draw out the antlers on top of the head. Moose antlers are not nearly as separated as deer antlers, but instead are incredibly large with smooth, rounded edges. Very gently color the antlers in, using small swishes and dots to portray the fuzzy texture.
-
4
Add all facial features to the moose, from the large black eyes to the long snout with a dark nose. Frame the eyes with short spikey lashes, and again use the side of your pencil to create wispy fur effects.

5
Color in the hooves of the moose solid black.
