How to Care for a 150CC Bali Moped
Mopeds are a fantastic way to travel short distances, as many offer great fuel economy, excellent storage space and good-looking bike designs. These machines are known for their reliability. However, preventative care for your bike is always a good thing to do, whether you've owned your moped for 5 months or 5 years. The last thing you want is a broken moped 10 miles from home. If you feel like your bike needs a quick check-up, follow the steps below to make sure your machine is in riding condition.

1
Check the tire pressure in both tires by unscrewing the inner tube cap, and plugging in the tire pressure gauge. Normally, if the pressure is below 50 PSI, you will want to inflate them a little bit. If you can push in the tire by using your hand, the pressure is too low. For specific inflation instructions, read the side of your tire.

2
Wash your moped thoroughly using a simple rag, water hose and some soap. Get every crease, indent or crack. It's important that you get most of the dirt off your bike, as simple piles of dirt can get locked in your engine, causing serious running problems.

Put your moped up on its kickstand, and start it using the kickstart or electric start (if you have it). Give the bike some gas, and then apply the brakes full-strength. If either brake gives any leeway on either wheel, take the moped into a shop where they can adjust the brakes correctly.

Unscrew the engine cap using a Philips screwdriver, and check the air intake on the engine. Sometimes, dirt, leaves and other dust particles can clog this intake, causing a loss in acceleration and power large enough to be noticeable to the rider. Simply run some water through the intake, and let it air-dry for 4 hours or so.

5
Check your moped's spark plug by kick-starting your moped with the spark plug pulled out from the engine. If you can visibly see a spark, your plug is operating properly. If you cannot see one, or it is exceptionally small, look for the serial number on the spark plug, and purchase another one from the spark plug manufacturer's website.

6
Replace your engine cap, and take your moped back out for a spin. It should be road-ready for at least another year.

Tips & Warnings
If your Bali moped is idling too fast, adjust the idle screw on the carburetor by turning it out for lower idle speeds, and turning it in for faster idle speeds.
If you feel uncomfortable working with your bike, consider taking it in for a check-up at a certified repair shop. The workers there know exactly how to work with machines like the Bali Moped, and they can get it road-ready for you in a matter of hours.
